Bridge Farm

Lower Farm Buildings, Bridge Farm

Location:
Glastonbury, Somerset

Description:
Bridge Farm saw the conversion of existing calf sheds into a light and modern office space. The original building was open fronted and formed three sides of a courtyard – the focal point of our final design. We stripped the building back to the rear wall on all three sides and incorporated a new oak frame roof structure with oak post and beam detailing around the predominantly glass frontage, creating three large, light and airy office spaces. Reclaimed stone and tiles complement the stunning oak frame and cladding, while high performance windows and polished concrete floors give the conversion a really attractive mix of traditional and contemporary design. The building also features a biomass wood pellet boiler as a central district heating system supplying all three of the offices and providing the landlord with RHI [Renewable Heat Incentive] payments as ROI.
