Collaborative Working Returns

It’s been so good being back in the office and working collaboratively - face to face - again on all of our varied projects currently on the drawing board. The space we have in the office means we can do so safely and regular testing of staff gives us the reassurance that we’re not putting anyone at risk in doing so.

Remote working brought with it challenges that were dealt with through collaborative software and information exchange techniques, but there is nothing better than physically sitting down to review drawings and ideas at the early stage of any project.

A new addition to the office this year is the ‘sketch wall’, which is kept up to date with images of emerging projects, giving everyone the chance to get an idea of the various projects that we have on as well as contributing with design suggestions and ideas.

In many ways, remote working forced us to work more collaboratively sometimes; programmes such as Microsoft ‘Whiteboard’ meant that various members of a project team could sketch over the same drawing with different coloured pens from the comfort of their own homes - the results mean more to the project team than to anyone else!

Keeping the sketch wall up to date gives us an impression of how many fantastic projects we have currently at the design stage; we’re really looking forward to turning them into built reality as we continue getting back some semblance of normality this year.
